OUR VISION, MISSION & GOALS
Our Vision:
  • The Chapel of Saint Andrew: A genuine Christian community of love and service and a beacon of faith and hope to the world.

Our Mission:

  • To seek Christ and proclaim his truth in word and action.

Our Goals:

  • To Glorify God in Worship
  • To Nurture One Another in the Knowledge and Love of the Lord
  • To Invite All Seekers of God to Share Our Life in Christ
  • To equip the saints for ministry as faithful stewards of Christ's gifts.
  • To Serve Christ in Our Time and Place According to God's Call to Us.

OUR WORSHIP AT THE CHAPEL of Saint Andrew is the Celebration of the Holy Eucharist as the principle act of worship on the Lord's Day (Sunday).  The Holy Eucharist is also known as the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, and the Mass.  It was instituted by Jesus Christ at His last Supper with His disciples on the night he was betrayed.  In the Holy Eucharist Jesus interprets His life and death, inaugurates the New Covenant of God with His people, and offers Himself to His people.

The Holy Eucharist consists of the Service of the Word of God and Holy Communion.  In the service of the Word we hear and respond to the Word of God in Lessons of Scripture, Nicene Creed, Prayers of the People, and Exchange of the Peace of the Lord.  In Holy Communion we offer ourselves to God by presenting bread and wine to be taken, blessed, broken and shared with one another. Sunday School for our children is held in the education building at the same time as the Service of the Word. They return to the sanctuary and join their families  for Holy Communion.

ON THE FIRST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH, and on certain other occasions we offer the sacrament of Holy Unction which consists of the Laying on of Hands and Anointing with oil, accompanied by prayer for restoration of health, reconciliation of relationships and renewal of spirit.

We believe that God has called every person attending services at the Chapel of Saint Andrew to worship with us.  We believe God has called us together because He has a Word to address to us, which calls for the offering of ourselves to God in response.  By presenting our life and labor to the Lord to be taken, blessed, broken and shared, we enter into Holy Communion with God and one another.  We celebrate our Life in Christ, and are strengthened by the sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ for our ministries in the world.
