Rev. Stephen Zimmerman

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Cor 5:17

That quote from second Corinthians has always touched me deeply because it is the story of my life. Every day is a new beginning for each of us, both in the world and in Christ.

So many of us labor under the baggage we have created through the years and drag it with us daily, burdening everything we do with a negativity built up through past errors. What we don’t realize is that life would be such a gift and such a pleasure if we could only learn to give all the baggage and all the guilt to the Lord and to claim the peace that only He can give.

Worshipping God gives us a way to do just that. Each week we present ourselves to God and we receive the gifts of God in the bread and wine of Holy Communion.

The mystery of worship celebrates the mystery of our life in Christ and Christ’s life in us. We give God our life and all our cares. He gives us Himself in the sacrament of His body and blood. Through this worship we are transformed and renewed. Through this miracle He reconciles us to Himself and others...and ultimately to ourselves.
